Description
Port-aux-Esprits, 1960. In the small coastal town, the destinies of the inhabitants intertwine and clash. Bergerette Larose, an old maid who runs a florist's business, is also a fortune teller in her spare time. Her alter ego, the flamboyant Mrs. Azur, receives women whose future she predicts by reading cards. Over time, she has carved out a fine reputation for herself that ensures her a loyal clientele. Her friend Claire Gendron, a saleswoman at the Continental store, has also taken up divinatory arts to supplement her income, but with less success. And there is young Flora Blackburn, the town's secretary with the voice of an angel, who dreams of a singing career and wants to escape her destiny. Soon, the balance of the community will be upset by the unexpected arrival of a stranger who will interfere in the lives of its inhabitants and cause, in spite of himself, a real whirlwind in their normally peaceful existence. Rivalries, disappointed hopes, secret loves, lies and deceptions, the fortune tellers of Port-aux-Esprits will find themselves at the heart of gossip and speculations of all kinds. What future do the cards reserve for them in the raging storm?
