Christian Tétreault tells the story of his daughter Marie, who died at the age of two from a sudden illness. Deeply affected by this tragedy, he and his partner decide to carry on, despite the unbearable absence. Little by little, they realize that their little girl hasn't truly left them, but that she is present in their hearts, in their lives, and within their family, where she holds a special place. Marie becomes their guardian angel.
Despite the pain and tragic nature of this experience, the author affirms that this ordeal made him a better person, sensitized him to essential values, and opened the doors to serene happiness. This moving account, carrying a message of courage and hope, also allows us to relive, throughout the narrative, the currents that have shaped Quebec society from the 1970s to the present day.
