On New Year's Eve, Sadie Thatcher isn't in the mood to celebrate. Over the past year, her life has fallen apart spectacularly. She's lost her job, her apartment, and her partner. She's even been reduced to sleeping on her brother's best friend Jacob's couch. So, when a fortune teller offers her a wish, Sadie jumps at the chance to go back in time and restart her disastrous year. When nothing seems to happen after she makes her wish, Sadie indulges in an irrational act... and kisses Jacob. When she wakes up the next morning, she's in her old apartment with her ex-boyfriend, still working at her previous job. It doesn't take long for her to realize it's January 1st... of last year! As Sadie struggles through her year of second chances, she begins to realize that a lot has been slipping away. What's more, she's haunted by that famous kiss she shared with Jacob... but which never happened. A question now creeps into her mind. What if wishing to go back had ultimately been her only real mistake?
