To the outside world, Dave's mother is a loving woman who cares for her children. No one suspects the daily drama unfolding behind the walls of their home. In private, this alcoholic woman transforms into a veritable tormentor. Dave endures constant torture under the indifferent gaze of his father. Insulted, beaten, and tortured, he sleeps on the floor with newspapers for a blanket. Starved, he is only allowed to eat scraps that even the dogs won't touch. Several times, the abuse brings the little boy to the brink of death. And then one day, finally, Dave's teachers alert social services. The boy, now a young man, will manage to escape and rebuild his life, not by forgetting, but by turning his story into a source of strength.
