Description
Nothing could be worse for Sammy Roberge. Living in Montreal, the valiant student has not only just been dumped by her boyfriend, right when they were about to leave for a trip to Europe, but she's also been rejected from her doctoral program, which has dealt a blow to her career aspirations. Deep in self-doubt and reeling from her disappointment, she accepts her Aunt Mado's invitation to spend the summer in the Magdalen Islands, where Mado runs a snack bar. There, she meets Thomas, who works at the canteen. The young man has returned from exile, and his reappearance, as mysterious as it is unexpected, doesn't go unnoticed by the islanders. Thomas turns out to be an impatient and gruff colleague, and their relationship gets off to a rocky start. But Sammy quickly senses that he's hiding something, and she's determined to break through his shell, all while trying to recover from her own hardships. Will Sammy's stay in these magical islands allow him to weather the storm and find his way back once the tide has receded?
