Description
Very clever, a dice rolling game
Very Smart is a game by Wolfgang Warsch in which players must roll and select colored dice to fill a grid while respecting very specific conditions. The number of rounds varies depending on the number of players at the table. A game consists of several rounds in which only one player is active. The other players are not inactive, however. They must remain attentive to choose their die at the end of the round. In Very Smart, no participant has to wait very long.
Very clever, a game of combinations
Very Smart isn't just a classic dice-rolling game. The game relies on subtle rules that you'll need to know to succeed.
The active player rolls the dice 3 times. Each time they roll, they choose one. Dice lower than the value of the selected die are set aside for inactive players. They must choose one at the end of the round. The other dice are rolled again. To score the most points, players must try to create combinations on their grid that will trigger chain reactions and a surge of points. Each die color corresponds to a zone on the grid.
Very clever, a bonus game
As the game progresses, players have the opportunity to unlock bonuses that, if used wisely, will allow them to fill their grid more and therefore score more points. The grid contains numerous bonuses that will be unlocked depending on its filling and will allow players to:
- Cancel an unsatisfactory throw
- Check additional boxes for free
- Have extra points at the end of the game (with the foxes)
